UPDATE!

So, as I've said earlier, I got transferred into a completely different school than my old one and let me tell you, so far, I love it there! I've only been in school since September 1st, but I've met so many fantastic people, the teachers are great, the subjects are interesting, and the building is freaking HUGE! I've gotten lost so many times so far and I have to keep asking people where to go. The hallways are so large too that a van could drive in it, which is completely different from my old school, which was formerly an office building. It's also amazing that I also have a gym in my school! Believe it or not, my old school didn't have a gym what-so-ever, so we had to go to a sports facility nearby for phys ed. I am currently in the painting and design shop, which I am very excited about, since it was my first choice after all. I literally just switched from drafting and design, the shop I was originally signed up for, to painting and design because someone left the shop. Although I am legitimately in painting in design, I was still signed up for drafting, which was odd because my schedule did say painting and design on it too. I actually had to spend the majority of homeroom in the counselor's office to get my schedule since my homeroom didn't have it on the first day. The first time I got my schedule, it ended up having the fifth period block, so I had to see another counselor to get it correctly printed. It's been wicked tough finding all the rooms because it's so easy to get lost in my school, but at least people help me find my way around the place:) So far, I'm really liking this school and I am looking forward to spending the remainder of my high school years there.

I also went to the american idol top 11 concert on September first. I really enjoyed the show and I ended up getting a VIP pass to meet the idols! I ended up meeting half of them, but James Durbin wasn't at the meet and greet. Sure, I was bummed that I didn't meet him but something amazing and surprising happened. While he was singing "The Uprising" by Muse, he stepped off the stage and ended up standing right in front of me and he actually grabbed my hand and shook it! That was the highlight of the concert and I still can't believe it!

(2:31-2:48 is right before and right after he shook my hand)

I took a lot of pictures, but somehow my camera ended up disappearing on me so I will upload the photos once I find it. Overall, it was a fantastic show and I still can't believe James Durbin shook my hand! I guess waving the picture of him I got like a maniac worked :)

On another note, hurricane Irene happened last week and ended up making a tree crash into the power lines, which made my family lose power for 2 and a half days. It was extremely tough for us but we got the hang of it. I spent most of the time reading volumes 1-3 of a manga called Demon Sacred, which is a really good manga series and when I was finished with demon sacred, I started reading a series called Daughters of the moon by Lynne Ewing and I am on the second book in the series. I am really enjoying Daughters of the moon so far and I find it very interesting too. Demon Sacred is about an illness called return syndrome in which the person who has it physically gets younger until they disappear and Daughters of the moon is about 4 girls gifted with special abilities from the moon goddess, Selene and they have to fight an ancient evil called the atrox.

Today is labor day and I have no school, but today isn't a happy day because I am going to my cousin (related to me by marriage)'s funeral. His name was Cory Spencer and he hung himself at only sixteen years old, no one really knows why but I think it's because he went though a lot of trouble and his guilt made him take his own life. I never really knew him and only saw him about 5 times but his death saddens me because I've never really had someone close to my family take their own life and it'll be my first funeral that involves both a suicide and such a young individual. The tragedy also made me think about how sad I would be if anyone close to me ended their life, whether it would be a family member or a friend because they are the main reasons keeping me here and I have no idea what I would do if I lost any of them.  Rest in Peace Cory, even though I never knew you :(

Well, that's pretty much it, other than Ellen Hopkins' new book "Perfect" hitting the shelves on September 13th, my 16th birthday on September 30th, and Evanescence's new cd, entitled Evanescence comes out October 11th, which also means that they will be on tour and hopefully I can make it to the show on October 28th. I guess I'm done here and I hope you guys are doing well in school or whatever it is that you do.
